J. Donald Porter
President

Mr.  Porter has been involved in structuring and executing capital funding  projects for utility and governmental clients in the public and private  financial markets for 40 years.  He provides guidance on capital  structure and acquisition programs, competitive market initiatives, and  investor relations activities for public power, investor-owned and  Federal utilities, energy project developers and integrated energy  equipment and services providers for his firm.  Mr. Porter specializes  in developing funding solutions for entities involved in renewable  energy technologies, combined heat and power projects, and energy  efficiency programs.  Prior to founding Porter & Company, he served  in senior management capacities at Morgan Stanley, Prudential  Securities, Credit Suisse First Boston, Koch Industries and XTnrgy. 
 

Mr.  Porter graduated with an MBA degree from Harvard Business School and a  BA degree (University Scholar) from Princeton University.   He is a  member of various professional and industry organizations, former  Visiting Lecturer at Harvard John F. Kennedy Graduate School for Public  Policy, author of several utility and general finance articles and  speaker at regional and national conferences.  Mr. Porter serves on the  board of directors of various corporate and not-for-profit  organizations.
